Instructions

Start Up Procedure:

  1. Turn on the main switch for the power and lights near the door.

  2. Turn on the computer/workstation which you will be using.

 

Playback from Workstations:

  1. Check the diagram to which channels in the patch bay that workstation is connected to.

  2. On the patch bay connect the output of the workstation (outputs marked in red) to a mixer input (marked in green).

  3. To route something on the front speakers increase the volume on the bottom knob with output “ST1” on the appropriate channel on the Tascam mixer. To route something on the back speakers increase the volume on the top knob with output “ST2/Aux”.

  4. Adjust the main volume of the front and back speakers by adjusting the master volume for “ST1” and “ST2” on the Tascam mixer.

 

Playback from Capybara:

  1. Use the Kyma software installed on the MacPro.

  2. The Capybara has its own interface and its connected to channels 1-4 on the patch bay 2.

  3. Patch channels 1-4 from the patch bay to 4 inputs on the Tascam mixer and adjust the volume.

 

Playback from Pacarana:

  1. Use the Kyma software installed on the iMac.

  2. The Pacarana is connected with the M-Audio 2626 interface to channels 25-28 on the patch bay 2.

  3. Patch channels 25-28 from the patch bay to 4 inputs on the mixer and adjust the volume.

 

Playback from Tascam CD/iPod Player:

  1. The CD Player is connected to channels 23-24 on the patch bay 1 marked ast “Tascam CD”.

  2. Patch channels 23-24 from the patch bay to 4 inputs on the mixer and adjust the volume.

 

Playback from Laptop:

  1. Use the extra inputs 17-20 or 35-36 to connect with your laptop/soundcard.

  2. Patch these channels in the patch bay to inputs on the mixer and adjust the volume.

 

Shut Down Procedure:

  1. Put the volume down on the Tascam mixer.

  2. Quit all programs and shut don’t the computer that you used.

  3. Turn off the main switch for the power and lights near the door.

 

General Studio Rules:

  1. No drinks or food in the studio.

  2. If you need a password ask the EWP or the studio administrator/teacher or other students.

  3. Keep your files in a folder with your name in the appointed hard drive/folder.

  4. Do not instal any software without consent from the EWP or the studio administrator/teacher.

  5. Do not repatch/remove cables without consent from the EWP or the studio administrator/teacher.

  6. Keep the studio tidy and restore it in the previous condition, if you used a screen, sound card or cables connected to you laptop reconnect it as it was before.

  7. If you encounter any problem or malfunction please report it to the EWP.
