Instructions

Start Up Procedure for the Audio Equipment:

  1. Turn on the D&R Vision Mixer using the switch on the bottom unit of the rack on the right side of the table.
  2. Turn on the rest of the equipment using the switch on the power strip  at the top of the rack on the right side of the table.
  3. Make sure all the equipment which you need to use is turned on ( ex. speakers need to have the green light on in the front; cd player/blue-ray etc. should show something on their display).
  4. Follow the shutdown procedure at the end of this guide when you are finished with using the equipment.

Playback from Mini Jack:

  1. Follow the start up procedure at the beginning of this guide.
  2. Connect the mini jack to your computer or other device.
  3. Move up the “Master” fader on the mixer.
  4. Select "Input A" at the “Mini Jack channel" on the mixer, at the top of the channel strip make sure the “Input B Button” is not pressed in.
  5. Select the output of the mini jack by pressing the button “L/R” above the fader.
  6. Move up the fader from the Mini Jack channel to the desired level.
  7. Follow the shutdown procedure at the end of this guide when you are finished with using the equipment.

Playback from M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R:

  1. Follow the start up procedure at the beginning of this guide.
  2. Connect the USB cable from the table box to your computer.
  3. Move up the “Master” fader on the mixer.
  4. Select "Input A" on the “M Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R channels" on the mixer, at the top of the channel strip make sure the “Input B button” is not pressed in
  5. Select the output of the “M Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R” channels, by pressing the buttons “L/R”, “1-2” or “3-4” above the fader. “L/R” are the left and right speaker, “1-2” are the back speakers, and “3-4” are the Centre speaker and the Subwoofer.
  6. Move up the fader from the “M Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R” channels to the desired level.
  7. Follow the shutdown procedure at the end of this guide when you are finished with using the equipment.

Playback from Blue-Ray Player:

  1. Follow the start up procedure at the beginning of this guide.
  2. Move up the “Master” fader on the mixer.
  3. Select "Input B" on the “Blue-Ray Player channel" on the mixer, at the top of the channel strip make sure the “Input B Button” is pressed in.
  4. Select the output of the “Blue-Ray Player” channels, by pressing the buttons “L/R”, “1-2” or “3-4” above the fader. “L/R” are the left and right speaker, “1-2” are the Back speakers, and “3-4” are the Centre speaker and the Subwoofer.
  5. Move up the fader from the “Blue-Ray Player” channels to the desired level.
  6. Follow the shutdown procedure at the end of this guide when you are finished with using the equipment.

Playback from CD-Player:

  1. Follow the start up procedure at the beginning of this guide.
  2. Move up the “Master” fader on the mixer.
  3. Select "Input A" on the “CD Player channel" on the mixer, at the top of the channel strip make sure the “Input B Button” is not pressed in.
  4. Select the output of the “CD Player” channel, by pressing the buttons “L/R” above the fader.
  5. Move up the fader from the “CD Player” channels to the desired level.
  6. Follow the shutdown procedure at the end of this guide when you are finished with using the equipment.

Playback from your own device/ microphones:

  1. Follow the start up procedure at the beginning of this guide.
  2. To connect your own device or microphones use the free channels on the mixer as shown on the diagram.
  3. Mono channels 1-4 have XLR Microphone input for microphones, at the top of the channel strip make sure the “Input B Button” is not pressed in.
  4. Mono channels 1-4 have also Jack inputs, at the top of the channel strip make sure the “Input B Button” is pressed in.
  5. Stereo Inputs 4-6 have 2 x jack input for stereo channels, at the top of the channel strip make sure the “Input B Button” is pressed in.
  6. Follow the shutdown procedure at the end of this guide when you are finished with using the equipment.

Video/Beamer Connections:

  1. Turn on the Beamer using the remote.
  2. Use the VGA or HDMI cable to connect to your computer/device.
  3. Select the input on the beamer, “HDMI 1” is for the Blue-Ray player, “HDMI 2” is for the HDMI cable from the table box, “VGA” input is for the VGA cable from the table box.
  4. Follow the shutdown procedure at the end of this guide when you are finished with using the equipment.

Shut Down Procedure:

  1. If you used the beamer turn it off by pressing TWICE on the power button on the beamer remote.
  2. Bring the faders down on the Mixer.Turn of the audio equipment using the switch on the power strip at the top of the rack on the right side of the table.
  3. Turn off the D&R Vision Mixer using the switch on the bottom of the rack on the right side of the table.

Studio/Room Rules:

  1. No drinks or food near the equipment.
  2. Do not repatch/remove cables without consent from the EWP or the studio administrator/teacher.
  3. Keep the room tidy and restore it in the previous condition.
  4. If you encounter any problem or malfunction please report it to the EWP.
